"Playing with flat surfaces, I began shaping a square," says Yira Kahn as she talks about the design of this ring. "I didn't have anything particular in mind, and I ended up designing another square. When I put them together I realized they looked great superimposed, enhanced by silver's unique glow."

Yira Kahn was born in the Dominican Republic and arrived in Peru in 1986 with her husband. Fascinated by the country, they decided to stay. Already an interior designer, Kahn took several courses in ceramic artistry with famed ceramists Veronica Rock and Jose Luis Yamanuque. Ever creative and imaginative, Kahn decided to try a different artistic outlet in 2001, and she enrolled in jewelry design courses.
