Anna Lia Barandiaran Pravatiner was born in Lima on August 6, 1976. She excels in silversmith artistry and jewelry. Anna Lia's initial contact with jewelry came from being a sales representative for an important jewelry company. She became impassioned with the realm of jewelry-making and began to design and craft her own pieces. With the passing of time, Anna Lia refined her technique, ultimately perfecting her skills through specialized courses from renowned art schools. Her designs are guided by intuition and original creativity.
"I'd describe my work as feminine and with character," she says. Anna Lia is moved by a desire to transmit the beauty she observes, as well as by the admiration she feels for gemstones' natural allure and the energy they project. Her designs are veritable works of art that break through traditional schemes. Her creativity knows no boundaries and her desings are based on intense research on form and movement, rendering them dynamic.
Anna Lia began designing silver and gemstone jewelry with the hopes of eventually introducing her work through major exhibitions. Her dream came true when she presented her work at the Cirque à Porter exhibition, as well as in renowned South American galleries. She works mainly with gold, silver, a variety of gemstones and simple, manual tools.
To Novica customers she would like to say, "I hope with all sincerity that you enjoy and feel comfortable wearing my creations, just as I enjoyed making them."
In 2004, Anna Lia represented Peru in the "Art for Everyday Living" competition, organized by UNESCO Brazil.
