"My name is Ana Maria Pastor de Cavero. To me, this art is more than just fine jewelry. It is my life. I have been making jewelry since 1989, and when I first started, I didn't think I'd get very far. Now it has become my life's vocation, which I try to convey through original and elegant jewelry items.

"I began from scratch, I used to do other things. My husband works in the family's jewelry shop, and he's the one who kept suggesting I try it until one day, out of curiosity, I began to experiment. I wanted to know about the world of jewelry, which at the time seemed so distant to me. I took a course on jewelry and gemstones in San Diego, California, because I wanted to learn about quality and fine finish.

"I love contrasts, and I love color. I love the natural essence of gemstones and the possibilities they offer.

"A piece of jewelry is much more than a simple ornament. Sometimes earrings, a necklace or a bracelet is the main component of an attire. My work is distinguished by the quality of the materials I use.

"I design and create my pieces. I am zealous of every detail. I express my style through an impressive collection of necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. They all feature fine gems that are mounted on silver or gold. Now I am taking the path of pearls and their marvelous style and colorful tones.

"I have exhibited my work throughout Peru, as well as in Colombia and in the U.S. I appreciate the opportunity that Novica has offered me to show my designs to women around the world."
