Bead necklace, 'Kakraba'

Rich hues of blue, red, and gold perfectly align as they twist downwards to a golden copper sphere in this delightful necklace by Agnes Mills. Hand-crafted with glass and recycled beads, the harmonious composition inspired Mills to honor with this necklace the youngest child of a family, the Kakraba, which in Akan means "little one." When things are to be shared amongst the siblings, the Kakraba will always take the smallest piece, always delighted to be a part of his brothers' and sisters' fun. This elegant necklace will add a touch of distinction to a classy outfit.

Care instructions: To maintain the original luster of the beads, it is recommended to wipe them occasionally with a drop of baby oil and a clean cotton ball.

Agnes Mills

Born on November 10, 1951, in central Ghana, Mrs. Mills studied Home Science, now known in Ghana as Home Economics or Catering. Upon graduation, Mills became a teacher.

She works on her beaded necklaces as a hobby and in times of leisure, also creating the beads when she is on holiday from the school. She is married, and her children seem to be committed to their mother's bead-making vocation and sometimes help her with it.

"I hope the world will enjoy my designs. They come from my heart, and my homeland."
