"I have always had a tie with the arts. As a child, I lived surrounded by musicians, as many in my family play a variety of instruments. Besides, I have had a great passion for colors since, through a cousin who is a painter, I met the visual universe of art. These influences led me to play piano and guitar for several years of my adolescence. It was then that I also started learning to paint with oil on canvas, even though I didn't continue my studies in fine art.

"As an adult, I took some painting courses, mainly looking to improve my technique. Although I opted to major in law, my interest for art continued to live inside me. I have worked as a lawyer for more than 20 years and I always exercised this job without imagining such an abrupt change in my work.

"But art's call was greater when my longing to create discovered jewelry design. This passion was so intense that, ever since, I have devoted myself entirely to this art. My first pieces were just to see what I could do. My incessant search for new ideas quickly made these pieces seem obsolete to my eyes.

"From that time on, I began to research materials, to take courses to perfect my work, and to look for new techniques. Art is the transformation of a feeling; it is the materialization of a dream, of an emotion. Art is carried out with the knowledge you acquire about the materials with which you work. The more materials you know, the more vehicles you have for artistic expression.

"I quite like working with natural stones and I always prefer materials closer to nature such as wood, sisal and rami fibers, seeds in general, but mainly gemstones. To me, art is the materialization of dreams, of emotions."
