Alexandra Temple

Born in Lima in 1974, Alexandra Temple discovered her inclination toward art and creativity in 1999, when she signed up for a course in decorative candle making in the city's Museum of Art. At the same time, she studied ceramic painting, as well as specializing in aluminum repoussé. She also took classes in painting and decoupage, and eventually began crafting utilitarian art in wood and resin. In 2002, she began studying jewelry making and art glass techniques, which led to her own designs in silver.

"I'd describe my work as something made with great dedication and affection. My motivation is to create something I can share with others, and this is exciting," Temple says. "I try to transmit all my sensitivity, all the love inside me through my art. My pieces are all crafted by hand.

"So far, my greatest challenge has been to set up my own jewelry enterprise while holding a job, since I am also a wife and mother."

Temple has participated in the 8th National Encounter of Silver in the jewelry category, and future plans include adding gemstones to her designs and working in gold and platinum.
