"I started designing and crafting silver jewelry at the beginning of the 1980s so I could pay my university tuition – I was studying mechanical engineering. I became so involved in this activity that I ended up dropping out and working full time as a jeweler. I began selling my wares at local art fairs in various coastal cities.

"Eventually I developed an original technique to work with enamel at low temperatures with polyester resin, the same material used for making synthetic gems. I was enthralled by the colorful transparency of the pieces, and how the combination of colors resulted in a psychedelic illusion.

"I have been refining this technique over the last 20 years and in so doing, I have designed several jewelry collections that go from silver jewelry items to religious articles, especially Hebrew.

"We're lacking in telecommunications in the area where I live. I have always sold my products directly to the customer, never through shops. I see in Novica a way to display jewelry items originating from Brazil's Atlantic forests to the rest of the world."
