Lara Mendoza

"I was born in Lima on February 19, 1977. In 1997, I was introduced to the world of art when I began to study painting in the Universidad Católica's School of Art. Since then, I've been developing several other artistic facets like photography and, currently, jewelry design.

"I'd want people to become sensitized and appreciate the colors that nature gives us. My work transmits passion, strength, toughness, personality and solidness. I achieve this through natural gemstones and metals such as silver and copper.

"One of my best experiences was to study with a scholarship at St. Martins College of Art and Design in London. This gave me the opportunity to discover Europe, become independent and enjoy a city that can offer so very many experiences to a young person.
"My jewelry is a reflection of my personality, my way of being and my moods. My feelings also find expression in the technique I use for the occasion."
