Yolanda Ormachea

"I was born in Cuzco in 1968, and by the time I was eight years old, I was already trapped by the wonderful world of Peruvian artistry. Even as a little girl, I was always making bracelets and necklaces out of leather and other materials. When I was older, I moved to Lima and had to put on hold this passion of mine.

"My husband is an artist, and he encouraged me to return to this world of magic once more. Art is truly my vocation.

"I've been dedicated to jewelry work since 1990, designing and making different collections from a variety of materials. I must admit my favorite subject is the butterfly – I feel I identify with it. I love butterflies because they go through different stages before they become as beautiful as they are. This holds true for me too, as well as for many artists.

"I am happy to start a new stage in life and exhibit my creations through Novica. I am eager to see the clients' response to my work, and I also hope to receive their comments."
