Kamal

"Hi, my name is Kamal Yusuf and I was born in 1973 in the southern district of Uttar Pradesh. After I was born my family moved to Aligarh where I spend most of my childhood. I've always been very creative, even as a child when I first began dreaming of becoming an architect. My parents were not very happy about my decision - they expected me to follow in my father's footsteps and work in the field of transportation – which was the last thing I wanted to do!

"So, after finishing school I studied for a diploma in architecture in Delhi and began to work for different companies. However I soon realized I didn't like it: I wanted to pursue my own ideas, my own style and be my own boss. Eventually this need in me led me to explore the realms of handicrafts and I've never once looked back. Handicrafts allow me to explore my creativity. Initially, I had to face a lot of financial crunches, but I never gave up. As time went by I gradually learned more and more and now I am proud to have arrived at the place I am at!

"Right now I am concentrating on designing home furnishings, jewelry boxes and jewelry. Many have appreciated my work and some of my products have found favor in Germany, the U.S. as well as in the Middle East. I regard Novica as a guiding force - I am learning a lot from them, especially in how to improve quality and develop more styles."
