"I'm Maria del Pilar Chávez Macedo, from Arequipa. I was born on February 4, 1971. One of my fondest memories is of my mom knitting, and by the time I was four years old she had taught me how to knit little odd and ends. I graduated with a degree in Communication Science and started working in this field however, I felt the need to do something else that would fill my life and time. I decided to study a course on jewelry design, and I soon became passionate about it. It fulfilled my life so much so, that I left my job to dedicate my time to jewelry design.
"I studied at the Giorelli Jewelry School, and I would describe my work as professional, creative and exclusive. I love designing pieces that people admire and want to wear, it is so satisfying and it fills me with pride. It inspires me to continue creating.
"I've been designing since 2004, moved by a desire to awaken a person's sensibility through my jewelry. I want my designs to express a sentiment that will last through time.
"My greatest challenge is to become a responsible and professional jewelry designer, so that I may take my collections around the world, with each piece representing my ever lasting inspiration."
