"My development in the field of jewelry has, for the most part, been self taught. Although I studied the basic techniques, the designs come from my own creativity and my conception of the world around me. The process begins when I encounter a certain stone or resin or kind of metal. When I touch it, this is when I 'feel' it and the piece I will create with it takes shape in my mind.
"I was born March 4, 1977 in Monterrey, and from my infancy I've been surrounded by and involved with different art forms, as my parents are people who cultivate the arts. I finished my university degree and postgraduate studies while developing my creative abilities and my liking for artisan-style jewelry. It is only in the past few years that I've begun to show and sell my designs. I think that living for a while in Cuernavaca and Guadalajara, and the opportunities I've had to visit Mexican towns and cities, had an influence in the development of my creativity, as I was exposed to the cultural wealth in each place.
"The ability of our Mexican artisans in their use of color is a great inspiration for me, as is their use of natural materials in their work. I think my designs reflect a great deal of what 'beauty' means to me – delicacy, subtle forms and the sensation of fluidity, precise details and harmony in the use of materials and colors. I've had the privilege of getting to know the culture, handicrafts and folklore of such varied regions of the world as India, Chile, New Zealand and others. The shower of forms, colors and textures I discovered in them has also influenced my esthetic sense.
"Each of the pieces I create is crafted by hand, each is created with much love and appreciation for the person who values it and acquires it. When you wear my designs, I hope they'll bring a moment of beauty to your life."
