Ketut Adi Putra

Ketut Adi Putra is a young dynamic man and a highly creative designer of silver jewelry. He was born into the world of silver jewelry, for this has long been a family activity. Having been in touch with jewelry everyday growing up, it is only natural he developed an interest in learning and creating new designs which combined traditional and modern styles.

Under the guidance of his father, Ketut Rudet, he concentrates on creating new designs that would satisfy his artistic flair while appealing to a larger audience. Silver jewelry in Bali is related to a long history of art and culture resulting in a great variety of techniques and designs.

A curious anecdote influenced Ketut Adi Putra's work, when an antiques collector came to him and proposed he should craft silver in the style of the Majapahit era. Putra refused because he had never made it before, nevertheless the relentless collector kept coming until Putra got tired of him and gave in. He trained with a silversmith specializing in antique designs, and soon Putra was able to replicate the Majapahit designs and prove his ability as a silversmith.
