"We're Isabel Cabrera Redolfo and Alexis Suárez Jiménez, born on 3 February 1979 and 2 October 1978 respectively. Ours is a history filled with love, which we transmit through our designs. I, Isabel, was out with friends one day and amongst them was a guy I hadn't met before. He was in my village accompanying his dad, who was there on business. We got to know each other fairly well and over time a great friendship blossomed. We started going out together and not only were we a couple, we also got together through art.
"I studied hotel management, but I never actually worked in that field, while Alexis continues to work in Communications at the same time that he enjoys jewelry design and craft.
"We went to Brazil on holiday and to visit Alexis's brother, and he showed us the work he was doing with
alpaca, which is a silver alloy. We already knew something about this type of work, but he ended up teaching us a lot more about it. By the time we got home we were very excited about creating our own collections. We envisioned our designs to carry our roots and our Andean world, which is filled with beautiful things.
"We traveled across the Peruvian and Bolivia sierras, where millenary artistries proved to be a great source of inspiration. We were so excited about what we had learnt on Andean cosmogony that we couldn't wait to get back home and orient our designs towards this wonderful artistic realm.
"I began to enroll in jewelry workshops to increase my knowledge about design and jewelry making, and together we let our imagination roam free to fill us with ideas, which we then turn into designs to be worked in silver. We both like to design and to see our creations become a reality.
"We're together not only in love, but also in the artistic world. We would describe our work as silver handicrafts that are inspired in pre-Hispanic culture and mysticism. Our work is an effort to rescue antique symbols, as well as the mystic, spiritual and cultural elements of Andean cosmogony.
"We have been traveling in this path since 2005 without stopping. We are dedicated to creating new and better pieces every day, always with the concepts that characterize our designs, with which we have identified. We are moved by our love and the possibility of sharing it, as well as sharing our world vision. Our designs are laden with our happiness, our faith, our energy and in general, our deepest gratitude to the Universal God.
"We want to share our love as well as a different world view to that of our contemporaries, which is based on our ancestors' wisdoms. One of our biggest challenges has been to rescue pre-Hispanic cultural identities through our dedication to ancestral legends and motifs.
"We're comforted by the fact that many people share our interests and are sensitive to our designs. We'd like to confide in you by telling you that each design holds a mystical element based on ancestral teachings, which we share with you with love."
