"I'm Komate Klommuang, or you can call me by my nickname, 'Golf.' I was born on January 11, 1980 in southern Thailand. My parents have three children, and I'm the second.

"When I was four years old, I was taught the ancient Thai dance named Manora. To dance the Manora, one must have a flexible body and there are methods to make our body pliable. For example, we use the coconut shell to bend our fingers. In addition, I play sports for my school.

"I was born in a family of artists, especially my mother who is a Manora dancer. I would have liked go to drama school to learn more about the Manora, but decided not to because my family believes that there are some bad spells for this kind of dance.

"When I was young I made basketry to sell because my village is a basket-making village. We inherited this tradition from our ancestors and my work nowadays is in handicrafts. They bring a good income to our village. However I also adapt this kind of work to modern styles. And while I was a university student I became interested in jewelry design; I select the stones and craft the pieces myself to show off their beauty.

"I really appreciate working with Novica and thank everyone for giving me a chance to present my work from southern Thailand to the world."
