"Hi, my name is Dinesh Soni and I was born in Kuthan village about 25 kilometers from Jaipur. I did my primary schooling in my village and later moved to Lalsoth. There I stayed with my paternal aunt to pursue further studies, since the school in my village only offered primary classes.
"It was fun growing up with my aunt, because she loved me liked her own son. My father is a silversmith and made fantastic jewelry, but I couldn't learn the art, as I left home when I was very young. The closest I could get to my passion was admiring the beauty and aesthetics of gems and jewelry. Luckily for me, my uncle was also a silversmith, so I got the opportunity to learn from him. In fact, after school, I would sit with him and take proper lessons on the art and technique. I stayed with my aunt and uncle for six years and, during these years, I not only learned jewelry crafting but also a lot about responsibilities in life and being a good human being. As I said, my aunt loved me liked her own son. She always taught me how to be nice and polite to others, to offer a helping hand and to respect one and old – irrespective of cast, creed or religion.
"After I completed my 12th standard, I wanted to take up jewelry art as my profession so I returned to my own village and started working along with my father. My father has a small workshop and a shop where he sells his designs. It was amazing to be working together with my father, since I have wanted to do this for a long time. We exchange ideas and techniques and combinations, and this gives me immense pleasure. Though we work together, I still feel he is the best and want to learn everything he can teach me.
"We came to know about Novica from an uncle who is a Novica-featured artisan. I am so happy. Even my father is eager to see our products on the website. I hope you appreciate and like our work."
