Gustavo Sanchez

"Ever since I can remember, I've always had a penchant for transforming my drawings and designs into palpable objects. It started when I was a kid, and I honed my skills when I studied industrial design at Mexico's UNAM (National University). When I graduated I worked in design for different companies, but I was unsatisfied by the dryness of business design. I realized I was missing the excitement I derived from designing.

"That's when I decided to try jewelry design, specializing in a minimalist style and working with sterling silver because apart from being a beautiful and good material to work with, it is representative of Mexico. My country is internationally renowned for the quality of its silver.

"My tutor, Enrique Lagunas, is a master silversmith and he has been very supportive. Thanks to him I'm able to keep making my dream come true, for now I'm back to creating, only this time it's beautiful pieces of jewelry."
