"My name is Ekaterina, I was born and raised in Russia and my family has always been dedicated to sports. My mother is the technical trainer of Russia's synchronized swimming team. I always traveled with her, as she wanted me to work with her.
"Thirteen years ago we came to Rio de Janeiro because of her work, and I never left. I fell in love with Brazil so I decided to stay. I found a good job in the sales department of an international jewelry company, and I worked with Russian clients. I worked there for almost 10 years, doing a type of work I had never done before.
"I have always loved Brazilian gemstones and working there was a great opportunity for me. Little by little, I learnt all I could about the stones and found inspiration in everything that surrounded me.
"A year ago I decided to open my own atelier and this is how I started. I love designing jewelry, and I am so happy for it. I have always loved jewelry, but I have never been rich enough to afford any precious stones. Now I can work with these stones, and I get to make my own pieces.
"I miss Russia a little, but I got married here in Brazil and I have a beautiful child, I am very happy with my life.
"I learnt a lot from my mother, she is a very creative woman, and I think I inherited her creativity.
